Discover EBOO therapy in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Learn how EBOO combines blood filtration, medical ozone, oxygenation, and UBI to support energy, circulation, inflammation, and overall wellness.

At vIVid Wisconsin, we believe wellness should go beyond simply managing symptoms. Our goal is to support the systems that influence how you feel, function, recover, and age.
That is why we are excited to now offer EBOO therapy with UBI in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
For patients looking for more advanced support for inflammation, energy, immune function, circulation, recovery, or complex chronic health concerns, EBOO offers a completely different approach than a traditional IV.
EBOO stands for Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation.
During an EBOO treatment, your blood continuously circulates outside of the body through a specialized system, where it is filtered and exposed to a carefully controlled combination of oxygen and medical ozone before being returned to you. Because the process is continuous, EBOO allows us to work with a much larger volume of blood during one treatment than traditional ozone autohemotherapy. At vIVid Wisconsin, we take the treatment one step further by incorporating Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation, or UBI, into every EBOO session.
In one treatment, we are able to combine:
blood filtration + oxygenation + medical ozone + UBI
That combination is what makes EBOO such a unique therapy.
Most people who begin researching EBOO are looking for more than a quick boost.
They may be dealing with persistent fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, poor recovery, environmental exposures, or simply feel like their body needs more support.
EBOO is designed to work on several areas at once, which is why patients may explore it to support:
EBOO is also being used in integrative and functional medicine as an adjunctive therapy for patients navigating more complex concerns such as Lyme disease, mold and environmental illness, chronic inflammatory conditions, and oncology care. In these situations, EBOO is not intended to replace conventional medical treatment. Instead, it may be incorporated alongside a patient's existing care plan with the goal of supporting areas such as energy, circulation, inflammatory balance, immune function, and overall quality of life.
If you are already familiar with Major Autohemotherapy, or MAH, you may be wondering how EBOO is different. With MAH, a smaller amount of blood is removed, combined with medical ozone and oxygen, and then returned to the body. With EBOO, your blood is continuously circulating through the system throughout the treatment. This means we can work with a significantly larger volume of blood while also incorporating filtration and UBI. That is why EBOO is often considered a more comprehensive form of ozone therapy. It does not necessarily replace MAH. They are simply different tools, and which one makes sense depends on the individual patient and their goals.
One of the features that separates EBOO from traditional ozone therapy is the filtration process. As blood circulates through the EBOO system, it passes through a specialized filter before returning to the body. This is one reason EBOO has gained so much attention among patients interested in detoxification, environmental exposures, inflammation, and overall blood health. Rather than simply adding something into the bloodstream, EBOO works directly with the circulating blood while supporting the body's own systems for processing and clearing unwanted byproducts.
Medical ozone creates a brief and controlled oxidative stimulus. While we usually think of oxidative stress as something harmful, small and controlled oxidative signals can activate the body's own protective responses. Medical ozone has been studied for its potential influence on antioxidant pathways, circulation, oxygen utilization, immune signaling, and inflammation, although evidence varies considerably depending on the condition being studied. EBOO allows that ozone exposure to occur continuously as blood moves through the treatment circuit.
Every EBOO treatment at vIVid includes Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation. UBI exposes circulating blood to controlled wavelengths of ultraviolet light before it is returned to the body. UBI has been used historically in integrative medicine and is being explored for its potential effects on immune and inflammatory signaling. Because our system incorporates UBI directly into the EBOO circuit, patients receive both therapies during the same treatment rather than needing to schedule them separately.
EBOO uses two IVs, typically one in each arm. Your blood continuously travels through the EBOO system and returns to you while you relax in the treatment chair. Our clinical team remains with you and monitors you throughout the procedure. Before beginning EBOO, patients complete a medical evaluation and baseline laboratory testing to make sure the treatment is appropriate and can be safely individualized. How often EBOO is performed depends on the patient's goals, health history, current treatment plan, and response to therapy.
No, and that is important. EBOO is an advanced treatment, and there are situations where it may not be appropriate. We look at your health history, current medical care, medications, laboratory results, vascular access, and overall goals before recommending treatment. For patients with complex medical conditions, including those undergoing cancer treatment, EBOO should be viewed as part of a larger care plan rather than a replacement for established medical treatment.
We are excited to bring EBOO therapy with UBI to Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley. For patients who already use ozone therapy, EBOO offers a way to take that therapy further. For patients who are new to ozone, it provides an opportunity to explore a more comprehensive treatment combining filtration, oxygenation, medical ozone, and UBI in one session. And this is only the beginning of our EBOO education.
In upcoming blogs, we will take a deeper look at topics such as EBOO and Lyme disease, EBOO for mold and environmental exposures, EBOO in supportive oncology care, inflammation, immune health, energy, longevity, and how EBOO compares with traditional ozone therapy.
